Can I have braces as an adult?
Yes absolutely! Most adults get aligners or fixed braces to improve their teeth alignments, bite and overall oral health. In fact, about 1 in for orthodontic patients are adults, so are certainly not just for kids!
As an adult, you may be interested in more discreet options such as clear aligners (Clear Correct, our invisible teeth straightening system) or fixed braces (also known as train tracks) for more complex cases.
Clear aligners and fixed braces are just as effective, but every case differs from patient to patient.
Speak to our Treatment Co-Ordinator Olivia, or our Principal Dentist and Orthodontist Matthew to discuss your specific needs, goals and options available. They can help you decide on the best treatment options for your lifestyle and smile.
In your consultation appointment, x-rays will be taken, as well as measurements of your current bite and a 3D scan of your current teeth alignment. You need to have healthy gums and teeth before getting orthodontics. If you have any dental issues (such as tooth decay or unstable gum disease), they’ll need to be addressed before starting teeth straightening.
Benefits of Adult Braces:
